Kate's Newsletter 2020 #1 - Sneak Peak + SPRING/BREAK Art Show NYC

Dear Friends,

How are you? I hope the new year is treating you well. I've been in Serlachius Residency in Finland since January 8, and gathering so many good memories. Lately I am having these moments of my heart and mind in sync and experiencing the joy that I am not used to - this really is something. I am sure many of you already know and felt this feeling but I really haven't. It always felt just out of reach for me.

Well, I think I am just beginning to shed my little shell. I am stunned that I found it in Finland out of all the place, and for that I am immensely grateful. I will be showing the work I made in this residency on Friday, Feb 21 from 4-6p -- I will be working on this series for a while I think.

My proposal also made into SPRING/BREAK Art Show in NYC, March 3-9 at 625 Madison Ave. Here is a little sneak peak:

I started to combine printmaking + painting + kateness. So far I've calling them the prototypes, and curious how they would blossom.

I’m normally afraid of children but this time it was fun! Finns are very funny.

I would love to run into you at the SPRING/BREAK art fair, I will be at the venue the most of times. Wish me luck! And be like a soft mochi, keep your heart all squishy and delish. I hope all is well with you.

Sincerely yours,

Kate Bae
