Status Exhibition Opening 10/3/19

Now that I am done with Soaring Garden Artist Residency for September, which was really awesome, I am ready to feel the city again. Although what’s up with the weather? It is going to reach 90 degrees today! Then drops to 60, is this how autumn going to be? Anyway, I have an exhibition opening tomorrow:

"Status" aims to salutes and honors human expressions rather than speak to the question of individuals immigration status in their adopted temporary or permanent home.

Curated by Zahra Banyamerian, "Status" invites you to leave the dominant narratives about immigrants and immigration behind and embrace the artists' responses to the question of self, the socio-politics and/or poetics of the(ir) world. The exhibition features work by eleven artists, from the New York Foundation for the Art’s Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program, who outline their status in artistic expression not their movement into the world.
